new england

last month our family of four (and too much luggage) headed to new england to visit friends and family. our non-stop flight from pdx to bos was a little bumpy and the kids napped maybe 20 minutes of the 5 hour flight. needless to say, we were very thankful to land, get our rental car and make our way to farmington (nh), where we stayed with our besties in their newly built house for the first few days of our vacation. on the way, and during a quick bite to eat in lee (nh), we experienced a 4.6 earthquake, which is super rare for the region.

the next few days we spent exploring dan and sandra's land and cemetery. we enjoyed good conversation, an impressive bonfire, and quality antique shopping and lunch at margaritas! a big thanks to you both for all the special things you did that made our stay comfortable and memorable - we treasure our friendship and miss you guys already.

after saying our goodbyes to new hampshire, we made our way to our sweet little cottage rental at york beach in maine. we were within walking distance to the nubble lighthouse and visited it as often as time allowed.

the following few days we spent with family, watching the cousins play, enjoying the marginal walk way, shopping, lunch and brenner's first lobster roll at barnacle billy's with an amazing view! after meeting up with the family at the ogunquitfest, we met back at our cottage for pizza, pumpkin decorating and listened to an amazing storm by the light of our cottage candles.

with the sun shining bright the following day, we were on our way to visit adam's grandmother in dover (nh). silvie was a little reluctant to give her great grammy a hug but eventually warmed up and even accepted a kiss. later that day we spent some family time at long sands beach with dan and sandra joining us, then went back to the cottage for drinks and a relaxing evening.

on our final vacation day we drove up north to portland (me) to meet up with adam's mom in the old port district for some shopping and lunch. it was a fun day together with family, exploring the streets of this amazing city and scooping up some pretty sweet souvenirs along the way.

so here, in the order they happened, are our favorite memories made during our spectacular vacation. the only person not shown is our new niece, avery, who we missed meeting by two days!
